This event is shoot over 3 weeks. It involves shooting 1 single shot at each of
the 30 blue bullseyes in a 15-minute time frame. Each scoring shot is scored
worst edge instead of the usual best edge. A
penalty and bonus system is
incorporated and allocated, depending on your rifle's weight. The lighter your
rifle weighs, the more bonus you receive and the heavier the rifle, the higher
the penalty. All rifles need to be weighed prior to the event. Certificates are
awarded to placegetters.
This event is contested twice a year. You are required to shoot seated at the
bench, using only your elbows for support. One target is shot comprising of 25
shots for a possible 250 points score. All sighting is done on a preceding
target. A perpetual trophy is awarded to the winner.
Rifles of Sporter weight specifications (7 pound 12 ounces)
such as Brno Model
2's are used in this event. Scope magnification is restricted to 6-power.
Variable scopes are also allowed, provided they are wound back to 6-power and
inspected. Contestants shoot
3 targets.
Each target has 10
red bullseyes, 2 shots
on each
bullseye. Each target has a time limit of
20 minutes.
Shooters shoot for medals (eg. Bronze, Silver and Gold) in 2 categories.

2. Open Sights
Shooters must
declare attempts to
a committee member
and have their
target signed before
shooting. Scores
required for each
medal are posted on
the Notice Board.
Medals can be shot
on the 2nd Tuesday,
Thursday or first
Sunday of each
month. Only 1
attempt is allowed
each month and each
medal can only be
obtained once in
each category.
This event is one which will
change from time to
time and does not require any
special shooting equipment. The aim is purely to vary our program and hopefully
provide both a challenge and enjoyment
to shooters.
This is a National Competition in which we, as a Club compete. The Rules we
follow are the same as at Club level. A
minimum of 3 shooters are required for
a registered shoot and the top 3 competitor's targets are sent to the S.S.A.A.
for recording. Medals are provided by the S.S.A.A. to any shooter who attains
the following scores:
2400 points - Gold
1800 points - Silver
1000 points - Bronze
A top 10 National Shooter's list is sent to the club each month.
This is a back-to-basics competition, in which all competitors fire 15 scoring
shots at a large Kangaroo silhouette target using open sighted rifles. All
sighting-in is carried out prior to the competition. In the event of a tied
score, a
shoot-out will be arranged. Time limit for this competition is 10
minutes.
This event is shot over 4 weeks. The shooters best score is entered after
completion of each day/night of shooting. The best 3 scores are added to form
the total.
Note: If the first target is shot for example on a Tuesday, then all other
targets must be shot on that day for the duration of that month's competition.
Most other shooting is centred on Benchrest without any restrictions to
rifle/scope combinations, provided they meet the Hyland Road Rifle
Range Rules.
